You can disable any of the tamper alarms on an Axis Powered by Genetec unit from the
AXIS device interface.
Before you begin
Ensure that your unit is not currently in a tamper state (displayed in yellow). You can
check whether there is a tamper warning by right-clicking the unit in Config Tool and click Maintenance
> Diagnose to open the Diagnosis window.
What you should know
The system can trigger an alarm for any of the following tampering activities:
When the device is being moved
When the device casing is open
When the external cabinet is open
When the cover of a reader is removed
Note: You can disable any of the previously mentioned alarm
triggers except the last one. The unit must be free of all tamper alarms before you can
disable any one of them, otherwise the alarms persist in your system even after the alarm
condition is cleared.
Procedure
In the AXIS device interface main menu, click Access control
> Alarms.
The Alarms page opens.
If the unit is currently showing a tamper warning, do the following:
Turn on all alarm switches in the AXIS device interface.
Address the issues that are causing the warnings.
Ensure that the unit is no longer showing any tamper warnings.
Turn off the switches of the alarm triggers that you want to disable.
Device motion
Triggers an alarm in your system when the motion sensor of the door controller is
triggered.
Casing open
Triggers an alarm in your system when the casing of the door controller is open.
Turn off this setting for barebone door controllers, such as A1210-B and
A1610-B.
External tamper
Triggers an alarm in your system when the external tamper input is active. For
example, when the external cabinet is open.
Note: Supervised
input can only be configured through Config Tool. The procedure is the same as
with Synergis™ units. For more information, see "Editable input settings" under
Access control unit - Synergis - Peripherals tab on the
TechDoc Hub. See also Supervised inputs in the Axis Powered by Genetec
